BayWa r.e. has partnered with the manufacturer of a recyclable pallet for solar module shipping.

Through BayWa r.e. Solar Systems, installers can select the PVpallet Series X to improve material transport and logistics, while aiding in their sustainability goals.

The pallet is recyclable and collapsible and is designed specifically for solar modules.

David Dunlap, BayWa r.e. Solar Systems' vice president of product strategy, said the partnership allows the company to further its commitment to sustainability "at all levels of the value chain."

The partnership between BayWa r.e. and Pvpallet coincides with the commercial launch of the Series X product.

The pallet is made of post-consumer recycled HDPE plastic and is reinforced with steel at its base.

Last August, PVpallet raised $1 million from Cedar Rapids, Iowa-based ISA Ventures after creating a prototype product earlier in the year.
