We are meeting that need with a program that offers integrative care to our canine campers with focus on their physical, mental, emotional and spiritual well-being.
How are we different from "Day Care"?
Our campers are offered off leash socialization experiences in small groups and are always supervised by a trained camp counselor who is physically present with the campers. Campers are hand selected into small groups based on their size, personalities and play styles.
Service includes:
- Higher quality of play, despite shorter periods of play time
- Higher quality rest which dogs need to be emotionally healthy
- Our low camper to staff ratio maintains safety from the possible fall out of large-group over arousal
What makes Unleashed! different?
Our Unleashed! Day Camp program was designed and implemented by Karen McCarthy. Karen holds a Master's degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from Simmons College and completed her mentor hours at Boston MSPCA's Behavior Department. Karen McCarthy is a Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA), a Certified Dog Behavior Consultant (CDBC), a Pet Partner Evaluator, an American Kennel Club Canine Good Citizen and STAR Puppy Evaluator, a professional member of the Association for Pet Dog Trainers (APDT), and an Authorized Mentor Trainer for Animal Behavior College. She also has a Citation in Animal Cognition from The Harvard University Extension School.
Unleashed! camp counselors bring with them a passion for dogs and a variety of skills. All counselors participate in a two-week in-house training program and complete Pet and Human First Aid Training. We are all constantly learning, and have a commitment to ongoing professional education.
Unleashed! Day Camp operates from Monday thru Thursday 7:30am – 5:30pm.
