Editorial Freelancers Association Members Add Their Expertise to ACES Conference

SAN ANTONIO - March 16, 2022 - PRLog -- Members of the Editorial Freelancers Association will once again add their expertise at ACES 2022, the annual conference of the American Copy Editors Society. The ACES conference will be held March 31 – April 2 in San Antonio, Texas. The theme of the event, to be held at the Hyatt Regency San Antonio Riverwalk Hotel, is Emerge—a nod to life and editing in a pandemic and post-pandemic world, and a look to the future of the organization.

ACES presenters this year include EFA members Mark Allen, Gerri Berendzen, Viannah Duncan, Kristy Gilbert, Molly McGowan, Merrill Perlman, Crystal Shelley, and Ruth Thaler-Carter. They will speak on a variety of subjects of interest to editorial professionals. Visit our booth to learn more about the benefits of EFA membership or about hiring the right freelancer for your project through our Member Directory and Job List!

"The EFA is looking forward to attending ACES in person this year. We always enjoy spending time with our ACES colleagues, many of whom are also EFA members," says Amy Spungen, EFA Events chairperson.

Since the first ACES conference in 1997, editorial professionals have been gathering to network and learn from industry experts. ACES speakers and panelists provide skill-building opportunities, expert insight, and information on trends in language, grammar, style, and usage.

Both the Editorial Freelancers Association and the American Copy Editors Society are committed to upholding professional standards and building skills and knowledge among their membership. In addition to conferences such as this one, the EFA and ACES offer classes, discussion groups, lectures, and professional resources to both members and the general public.

Founded in 1970, the EFA is a national nonprofit professional organization with approximately 3,000 members, including writers, editors, copy editors, proofreaders, indexers, translators, and others who work in publishing, communications, and related fields.
