NHU’s Postdoctoral Workstation was Approved for Independent Recruitment of Postdoctoral Researchers

Recently, NHU’s postdoctoral workstation was approved by the National Administrative Committee of Post-Doctoral for independent recruitment of postdoctoral researchers. Among private companies in China, we were one of the firsts to gain this qualification. The approval shows the Committee’s recognition on our research work and is conducive to our capability in introducing and cultivating talents. NHU’s postdoctoral workstation will continue to provide intellectual support to the implementation of the 14th Five-Year Plan and build a solid talent foundation for the high-quality development of the company. 

In June 2001, our postdoctoral workstation was rated as the pilot ones by Zhejiang Province Human Resources and Social Security Department together with some others in the first cohort and had the very first postdoctoral researchers onboard in November 2002. In June 2008, it was recognized as a national postdoctoral workstation by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security. Since its establishment, the workstation has leveraged the talent cultivation mechanism with industry-academia-research cooperation on the basis of the product development strategy of the company, in line with the requirement of technological and economic development of the province and the nation. It has served as a bridge to connect universities with businesses, research with production, and talent cultivation with project development; accumulated rich experience in system construction, operation mechanism and daily management; and achieved remarkable results in talent cultivation, scientific research innovation and industry-academia-research coordination. It has been awarded as the National Excellent Postdoctoral Workstation in the year 2015, 2018, 2019, and 2020.

Meanwhile, the workstation continues to introduce talents. Since its establishment, a total of 59 postdoctoral researchers have been recruited, among which 25 are still on-the-job, and 29 have finished their fellowship (25 out of the 29 decided to stay in the company). The workstation encourages its researchers to dig deep in exploring the innovative technologies that can be applied in the industries and make contributions in technological innovation and breakthrough, patented invention, and the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, so as to promote the sustainable and healthy development of the workstation.

Over the years, NHU has always valued quality throughout the life cycle of the products and in the daily management of the company. We strive to enhance NHUers’ awareness of quality by creating a quality-oriented culture, so that the comprehensive competitiveness of the company can be strengthened. Going forward, we will further improve our system, increase input, optimize management, and promote the development of the postdoctoral work, conforming to the requirements of Opinions on Reforming and Optimizing the Post-doc System (No. 87 [2015], General Office of the State Council), and nurture more high-level young talents to serve the strategy of innovation-driven development.
