September 25, 2021 – After the success of ‘Interrogation’, Optimstic Gangsta also known as Orend is back to what he is good at, creating music that stirs up emotions with his creative and signature music. The latest album is “Life is Dead” (Double Album). With this release, the artist has further cemented his space as the Htown's OG.

The media was abuzz about his new genre of hip-hop/rap called ‘Toxi-flow’, and the single “Missing’ U”, and then came “Life is Dead”. All of this is just a dream for Orend, who doesn’t even recall when he began to sing and write. It was his grandfather (McKinnely Edwards) who got him to listen to classic soul, gospel, blues, funk, and jazz among other kinds of music. He considers all the music he heard in those days to be hip-hop at its finest because they still contained poetry through Afrocentric arts. By the time he was twenty, Orend had lost over 40 people in his family and friend circle. Orend revealed that he continues to suffer trauma, stress, and pain from those tragedies.
Orend perceives his name as a brand. Over the years, he has built himself up as a music artist, philanthropist, songwriter, hip-hop pioneer, and entrepreneur. Wherever he finds himself, he teaches how to be great and to never put limits on what others can accomplish. He recommends that people can achieve great things if they put their heart into it. Orend is the founder of the O. Johnson Enterprise – a music publishing and entertainment company with a full stack of services.
Orend’s music strikes a special chord with fans of all backgrounds, especially those who are depressed or filled with suicidal thoughts, those who want to empower children through education, R&B fans, Rap fans, Chopped and Screw fans, those against drunk driving, and fans who are battling against grief.
