Remedy Bail Bonds in San Bernardino, California, launched an updated range of services in line with the recent announcement that the state is giving 76,000 inmates, including violent and repeat felons, good-behavior credits. This was “supposedly” made to lessen the state’s prison population, which is considered one of the largest correctional systems in the country.

However, this newly announced ruling by the Californian state has raised concerns among residents about the increased risk of crime. Previously, inmates eligible for good-behavior credits could reduce their time only by one-fifth of their sentence. Now, they can shorten their sentences by a third.

This means that around 76,000 convicted felons are eligible for early release. Of this number, 63,000 are convicted of violent crimes, including 20,000 serving life sentences with a possibility of parole. Violent crimes include first-degree murder, sexual assault (including rape, forcible sodomy, and incest, among others), and aggravated assault.

According to the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR), the initiative is meant to inspire incarcerated criminals to practice good behavior and participate in rehabilitative programs while also unburdening the overworked prison system. Nevertheless, residents are concerned that the initiative may prove more harmful than beneficial, especially when one considers that California holds one of the highest recidivism rates in the country.

Many cities have begun to increase funding for the respective police departments, stating that a stronger contingency of a uniformed security force may reduce criminal efforts.

In response to this ruling, Remedy Bail Bonds has updated its services to include mobile services, free bail information, and pay-by-phone services. The company understands that the process of posting bail may be financially constraining and complex for many families and offers the lowest rates in the state.

Remedy Bail Bonds has been serving residents in the state since 2004. Unlike other bail bond companies, it does not require any collateral from their clients or their families and offers interest-free payment plans. The company believes that all people deserve to be treated with dignity.
