A Kickstarter crowdfunding project you won’t easily forget. Smart apps that do the remembering for you

By: PRLog
"Remembering You" apps randomly remind you who or what’s important in your life 24/7. Like your family, friends, faith or business.
PRLog - July 2, 2015 - TAOS, N.M. -- “Remembering You”, a start-up technology company, is in the final stages of developing a line of smart phone apps with multiple applications designed to help the user remember who or what’s important to them. For some it may be their family or friends and yet others their faith or business. It can be used for yourself or given as a gift for that special person so they will know you are remembering them. “Remembering You” makes a great companion accessory for two people who want to remember each other like spouses, parents/children, boyfriends/girlfriends, neighbors, co-workers and more. Businesses, churches, clubs or non-profits can use it as an inexpensive promotional tool to keep their name or brand in front of their customers, members or donors.

The company has been self-funded through the development stage and has recently launched a Kickstarter campaign primarily to support the marketing effort scheduled for this Christmas season. Those interested in participating will have the opportunity to become early beta testers, get free apps and T-shirts depending on their level of involvement. The apps they receive can be used for themselves, their business or larger quantities given as gifts to their church, club or favorite non-profit.

“Remembering You” was recently featured on Kickwatcher which is a leading website that follows the most promising crowdfunding projects. More product information can be found on the company’s website which was just launched at www.rememberingyou.us. A Facebook page is also up and running and getting considerable action. The company has formed a joint venture with ZAP Marketing Partners, a full service advertising, marketing and business development company located in Taos, NM. Jon serves as Chief Spark Creator and provides consulting services to ZAP which was founded by his son. The company often forms joint ventures with promising new ventures to provide marketing and business development services at reduced rates for a piece of the action.

Jon Tedesco, came up with the idea over ten years ago, when he was attending a communion service at his church when the minister read a familiar scripture passage, “Do this in remembrance of me”. Jon was reminded how busy our lives can be during the week and that even though our intentions might be good we don't remember the important spiritual things or do what's needed to strengthen our faith as often as we should.

Shortly after this realization, and feeling somewhat guilty, Jon began developing a mini-pager type device that could be carried on a key chain which would randomly vibrate to remind the user to take a moment to stop, reflect and whisper a prayer. A prototype was developed and tested with great results. The manufacturing cost for this device was going to put the retail price in an unacceptable range so he shelved what looked like a very promising idea.

Fast forward ten years. During this time, Jon was following the rapid growth of smart phones for his advertising and marketing customers and a light came on. He decided to resurrect (A spiritual term) his random reminder idea as a smart app which eliminated the need to manufacture any costly hardware. Now, he could deliver a product, with even more capabilities, for only a dollar or two. He couldn't ask for anything better to make his random reminders perform with more capabilities and interaction than originally planned.

Smart phones are carried everywhere by most users and the installed base is growing rapidly worldwide. There are over 200 million smart phones in use in the United States and 2.5 billion are projected worldwide by 2018. They have built in functions to not only vibrate but deliver messages, photos and video with sound.

Jon also did more research during this time and discovered many other markets for a random reminder like individuals who want to remember loved ones and friends, non-profits to stay in touch with their donors and businesses who always are looking for inexpensive ways to keep their brand in front of prospects and customers. In addition, there are many private label, license, sponsor and advertiser opportunities which would allow the Smart App to be sold at a very low price or even given away for free. The possibilities to monetize this product are endless making the business model very exciting.

Jon assembled a creative, development and technical team at “Remembering You” who have been diligently working since early this year and are on schedule to complete the product development for iPhone and Android applications and begin beta testing during the 3rd quarter 2015. The company will then launch their consumer marketing program aimed at family and friends in time for the Christmas 2015 season. The business and commercial applications marketing will follow shortly thereafter.

Jon was recently quoted as saying, “I have developed, joint ventured and marketed many client products throughout my career but I don’t think any of them has the simplicity, need, wide range of applications and provide so many benefits as ‘Remembering You’. We’re anxious to get the final development and funding behind us so the marketing can begin. It will be exciting to hear from our customers as to how they were actually helped as they go about their busy lives”.
