The novel, which exposes the immense treasury of 18th century pirate, Edward “Blackbeard” Teach, is an artfully woven mixture of Southern comedy, tragedy, and love. In the story, the flamboyant Luna Belle finds herself unprepared to deal with greedy relatives, an ancient curse, and the battles mounting against her on Cowbell Island. The plot unravels as a coming-of-age adventure for the sixty-five year old jaded socialite, but hinges on the vast multi-generational wealth and those that have come under its powerful spell.
David McGukin's experiences as an architectural and interior designer, as well as a classically trained opera singer have only added to his unique style of visual and dramatic storytelling. “I've written most of my life, just never shared it with anyone.” McGukin said. “Of all the twists and turns I've taken professionally, writing Trove has captured my interest more than any other, and has been the most fun I've ever had.”
