CIT Announces Results from Annual Meeting

CIT Group Inc. (NYSE: CIT), a leading provider of financing to small businesses and middle market companies, today announced that shareholders approved all three proposals presented at its annual meeting, including:

1. The election of 12 directors for a term of one year or until the next annual meeting of stockholders;

2. The ratification of the selection of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP as the Company’s independent auditors for 2010; and,

3. A nonbinding resolution to approve the compensation for CIT’s executives, pursuant to the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.

The preliminary results of the meeting will be included in a Form 8-K filing no later than close of business May 17, 2010 and will be available, along with a transcript of the meeting, on the Company’s Web site www.cit.com.
