Cisco Names Port53 'Global Umbrella Security Partner of the Year'

Commendation cites Umbrella platform, which secures multisite, multi-device connections, making it ideally suited for remote work.

SAN FRANCISCO - November 16, 2021 - (Newswire.com)

Port53 Technologies, a leader in cloud-based cybersecurity and intelligence, today announced it has been named Cisco's Global Umbrella Security Partner of the Year.

Cisco presented Port53 with the honor last week at the global networking leader's annual Partner Summit. Port53 has been recognized for obtaining the highest Umbrella trials and bookings, in turn, helping more SMB organizations deploy and implement Cisco Umbrella than any other company globally.

Umbrella uses the Internet's own Domain Name System (DNS) to provide advanced security protection across accounts, networks, and devices for individuals and organizations.

"We are delighted to have been named Cisco's Umbrella Security Partner of the Year," said Port53's CEO, Omar Zarabi. "Umbrella is the first line of defense for Internet-based attacks, providing security for users that connect to networks from any location, off any device. This, of course, makes it the ideal solution to protect remote workers."

Because Umbrella is adept at identifying both known and emerging threats and provides peerless visibility for activity across devices and ports, it can stop attacks more quickly, making it popular with CISOs and IT Practitioners. Additionally, Umbrella's use of a lightweight Roaming Client agent that negates the need for a VPN (which can be a drain on bandwidth) has also made it popular among network administrators and CIOs.

Enabling small and mid-sized businesses with the knowledge, processes and tools to protect themselves from cyber attacks is critical to the Port53 mission. Through leveraging the cloud, Port53 has been able to work with resource restrained IT professionals globally to help them build resilience and adopt new digital technologies to drive better business outcomes.

"Last year's mass migration to cloud environments left security teams in a situation where IT complexity was on the rise while budgets and resources were slimming down," Zarabi added. "With Umbrella, teams can take back control at manageable price points and protect digital assets with negligible performance degradation."

Port53's award comes just weeks after the launch of its Customer Portal that enables IT and security teams to manage security subscriptions, tools, and capabilities from a single dashboard for a more effective threat posture. The San Francisco-based company has also recently opened offices in New York City in preparation for expansion into global regions such as the UK, Australia, and the Middle East. Port53 is also targeting emerging markets in Europe, Asia, and Africa.
