Vegas Spectacle: Fundraiser Launches to Preserve 40,000 Showgirl Artifacts in New Las Vegas Museum

The Society for the Preservation of Entertainment History is fundraising to build a Las Vegas museum showcasing over 40,000 Showgirl artifacts. The $53,000 goal will cover early development costs, preserving the rich history of Showgirl performances for future generations.

Step into a world where glitz, glamour, and artistry converge—a world where the timeless legacy of entertainment’s most iconic performers comes to life. The Society for the Preservation of Entertainment History (SPEH) in collabration with Grant Philipo's Las Vegas Showgirl Museum is excited to announce the launch of a fundraising campaign to create a one-of-a-kind museum in Las Vegas dedicated to preserving the rich tapestry of global Showgirl heritage. With over 40,000 unique artifacts, including costumes, props, and memorabilia, the museum will celebrate decades of Showgirl spectaculars that have defined the entertainment capital of the world.

Grant Philipo's Las Vegas Showgirl Museum collection is a vibrant and irreplaceable tribute to the Showgirls who captivated audiences from the dazzling stages of Las Vegas to the screens of Hollywood. Each artifact tells a story of creativity, passion, and artistry, offering visitors a glimpse into a bygone era filled with wonder and spectacle. To bring this vision to life, SPEH 501c3 is seeking to raise $53,000 in its initial Pioneer's raise, which will help secure a permanent public venue to house and showcase these historic treasures.

“This is more than just a museum; it’s a living, breathing tribute to the Showgirl spectaculars that have shaped entertainment history,” said Grant Philipo, the Head Curator of the LVSM. “We’re inviting the public to join us in preserving this rich legacy and ensuring that future generations can experience the magic that these performers brought to the stage.”

The funds raised through this campaign will go directly toward critical early-stage development costs, including hiring an architect to design the scope of work for the museum space, planning necessary updates such as electrical work and structural assessments, and covering essential legal and application fees required to secure a lease with the City of Las Vegas.

SPEH’s planned museum aims to become a cultural landmark in Las Vegas, providing a space where the stories of the Showgirls, designers, and creators who shaped the entertainment industry can be told and celebrated. From the sequined costumes to the breathtaking stage designs, visitors will experience the glamour and artistry that made Showgirls an iconic part of entertainment history.

“By donating, you’re not just preserving artifacts—you’re keeping the history of Vegas entertainment alive,” added Grant Philipo. “This is about more than just costumes and props; it’s about preserving a cultural legacy that has inspired millions. Every contribution helps us bring this incredible history to life.”

The fundraiser offers donors the chance to become Pioneer Members of the Society for the Preservation of Entertainment History, providing them with unique opportunities to be part of this historic project from the ground up. Donations of any size are welcome, and all contributions will play a vital role in building a permanent home for Showgirl history.

Currently you can see small portion of the costumes at the public exhibit: Spectacle of The Showgirl | Presented by Grant Philipo’s Las Vegas Showgirl Museum.
