Polyglot and diehard Texan Marco Hanson is speaking out to break stereotypes of his home state. Through a series of insightful interviews on YouTube, he shares authentic stories of immigrants who moved to Texas and became a part of thriving communities of open-hearted people.
Hanson’s interviews are wide and varied, covering light topics such as first impressions and the Dallas Cowboys, to more personal ones that reveal what it’s like living in Texas now and how the transition has changed their lives for the better. Hanson interviews both old-timers and newcomers alike, hoping to connect with more people and make them feel welcomed into the state.
Hanson says Texans are from every corner of the globe, not bound by geographic and language barriers. They are from Ukraine and Russia, Palestine and Israel, Gabon and the Dominican Republic. They are everyone who came to Texas, stayed, and built a life for themselves and their families. One in three Texans is bilingual or multilingual.
Aside from his interviews, Hanson also helps immigrants through his translation company, Texan Translation.
