Infinitum’s Aircore Heavy Duty Motor Wins Sustainability Product of the Year Award from Business Intelligence Group

Infinitum, creator of the sustainable air-core motor, today announced that its Aircore Heavy Duty motor system has been named a Sustainability Product of the Year award winner by the Business Intelligence Group. The award honors products that deliver measurable business results while advancing environmental impact.

Infinitum motors are helping the booming data center industry consume energy more responsibly at a time when AI power demands are rapidly increasing and electric grids are becoming severely strained. Data centers are projected to account for 44% of US electricity load growth through 2028, adding 65 GW through 2029 and stressing the grid.

Aircore Heavy Duty is a next-generation motor system that sustainably powers the world’s most demanding fan and pump applications used to cool AI data centers with upwards of 10% less energy, 66% less copper and easily serviceable components. The motor can also be rightsized to meet a cooling application’s exact horsepower needs, which requires fewer amps, and allows data centers to reallocate power budget from cooling applications to IT servers and new AI workloads.

Additionally, unlike traditional motors that are thrown away at end of life, the Aircore Heavy Duty’s modular design and reusable components allow for motors to be easily repaired to maximize uptime. The same modular design allows motors to be recycled or remanufactured at end of life to stay out of landfills.

One judge remarked, “With genuine innovation, this product addresses a significant sustainability bottleneck in data centers. It facilitates more intelligent power allocation, lowers energy and material consumption, and is backed by a sustainable manufacturing approach. It's a great illustration of circular design that achieves large-scale performance.”

“Cooling AI data centers efficiently is one of the most pressing business and environmental challenges we face today,” said Vikas Desai, chief commercial officer, Infinitum. “Our Aircore Heavy Duty is engineered specifically for these energy-intense, data center cooling applications. It’s an honor to be recognized for innovating century-old motor technology to be more efficient, cost-effective and environmentally sustainable.”
