Guild Names Former Workday Leader, Greg Pryor, Senior Vice President of Learning, Knowledge, and Outcomes

Guild, the leader in opportunity creation for America’s workforce, today announced that Greg Pryor will join the company as its Senior Vice President of Learning, Knowledge, and Outcomes, overseeing Guild’s learning and performance management strategy for its employees. Pryor joins Guild from Workday, where he was focused on leadership, organization effectiveness, and people and performance systems to help employees excel.

This new role, reporting to Guild’s Chief People and Purpose Officer, Dean Carter, will oversee a world-class knowledge management strategy that curates learning and real work experiences in order to drive strong outcomes for personal and career growth across the entire employee lifecycle for Guilders. In this role, Pryor will work to ensure that every Guilder continues to have equitable access to opportunity, personal development, and career mobility. This work will be in service of enabling Guilders to best support the company’s learner and member population, with the vision of creating a blueprint for other employers to follow. Pryor will also be responsible for re-imagining the traditional approaches to performance management and building a contemporary knowledge workforce that prioritizes strong outcomes over engagement in outdated tools and processes.

“We are at a key moment in the world of work, where access to knowledge through AI and other emerging technologies is requiring rapid reinvention, reskilling, and rethinking towards a new future of HR for all companies,” said Dean Carter, Guild’s Chief People & Purpose Officer. “Amidst all this change, we believe the one future-proof skill is learning. Greg brings 30 years of experience innovating in the learning and performance management space in support of driving a tangible impact in the lives of employees. I am confident that Greg will bring, and build upon, the very best practices and thinking to Guild’s learning, performance, and knowledge systems as we work to unlock opportunity for our own employees, as well as for the learners and members we serve.”

“The impact that Guild is having in the lives of employees across the country is undeniable and it’s an honor to join the company in this important mission,” said Greg Pryor, Guild’s SVP of Learning, Knowledge, and Outcomes. “I believe we are experiencing a once in a generation change in the way we work, one that will have real-time consequences in the lives of millions. Guild’s work in service of the personal and professional growth of its learners and members is more important than ever. I look forward to creating impactful systems that can support Guilders in this work, and also act as a beacon and blueprint for the field as we tackle this important moment together.”

Before Workday, Pryor served as Juniper Networks’s Vice President of Talent where he helped create Juniper’s Talent Matters Practice, which has been recognized as a groundbreaking performance management practice. He also served as the Head of Talent Management for Merrill Lynch’s Global Technology and Operations function and was a Partner in Accenture’s Human Performance Practice.

Pryor’s work on the growing importance of positive and productive workplace practices has been featured in Fortune, Forbes, MIT Sloan Management Review, and Organization Dynamics. Greg’s HBR cover story on How to Succeed in a New Role was selected as one of the ten definitive management ideas of 2022 by the Harvard Business Review. The Great Place to Work Institute recognized Greg’s pioneering work on employee experience and culture with its Innovator of the Year Award in 2019. Pryor holds a bachelor’s degree in speech with a focus on business and organizational communication from Emerson College.
