Muharemovic, with an extensive background in vehicle safety and dynamics, will lead the growth of the company’s technology innovations in assisted and autonomous driving in the market, including research and development, supplier solutions, and advancing strategic partnerships.
“We are proud to name Ibro as head of Autonomous Mobility in North America,” said Aruna Anand, President and CEO, Continental Automotive, North America. “As technology is changing and we enter a new era of mobility, it is critical to have the right leaders at the forefront. Ibro has made an incredible impact on Continental over the last nearly two decades, and we are confident in his leadership as he works to grow this important business area for Continental.”
Muharemovic joined Continental in 2005 as an intern in the Electronic Brake Systems business unit. He was hired full-time after graduation in 2007 as a Resident Engineer in the ADAS Business Unit. Since then, he has held many leadership positions within the organization, most recently as the Head of Engineering in the Active Safety and Controls segment in North America, where he was responsible for the development of technologies, components and systems for comprehensive vehicle safety and dynamics.
“I am honored to lead an exciting and evolving business for Continental,” said Muharemovic. “Autonomous mobility is a critical component to the future of automotive safety and sustainability. Continental continues to pave the way as we embark on new ways to transform the way we move.” Autonomous Mobility has been a priority for Continental for more than two decades. In September, Continental celebrated its first anniversary of the Autonomous Mobility manufacturing plant in New Braunfels, Texas. The plant produces ADAS product systems, such as radars, cameras and many vehicle control functions, which serve as the foundation for assisted and automated driving.
