Capitolis Hires Christopher Pennington as Executive Vice President of Sales As It Builds to the Next Phase of Growth

Pennington brings 30 years of sales experience at high-growth enterprise tech companies

Capitolis, the SaaS-powered network that efficiently links global market participants to new sources of capital in a regulatory-sound manner, today announced the appointment of Christopher Pennington as its Executive Vice President of Sales. In this role, Pennington will oversee the company’s sales operations and the development of its sales strategy and vision, as well as develop and maintain key customer and partner relationships and implement strategies for expanding Capitolis’ customer base.

Pennington joins Capitolis with 30 years of experience in sales leadership, having built and run successful teams in the U.S., Europe, and Asia at high-growth tech companies, where he specialized in enterprise SaaS sales. During this time, he has led exceptional sales teams and been responsible for the design, implementation, and execution of detailed sales foundations, key customer relationships, and success-orientated sales cultures, overseeing everything from planning and compensation to people development and revenue success. Most recently, as the Vice President of Global Accounts at Palo Alto Networks, he led a worldwide team focused on Fortune 2000 companies. Prior to that, he led teams at Google Cloud and Microsoft, where he helped both companies develop and grow their sales teams and drive exponential expansion.

“Chris has spent the last 30 years of his career working in organizations that have exploded onto the scene and brings a global enterprise and SaaS-focused perspective that will be critical to our future growth,” said Gil Mandelzis, CEO and founder of Capitolis. “I am thrilled to welcome him to the team and have no doubt he will be a crucial player as we enter our next phase of maturity and growth.”

“Capitolis is taking an innovative and collaborative approach, combining SaaS and structured finance expertise, to achieve audacious goals,” said Pennington. “I look forward to enhancing a sales culture that will expand on the exceptional foundation of innovation and success that Gil and the team have established.”

The news of Pennington’s hire follows Capitolis’ recent announcement that it entered into an agreement to acquire LMRKTS to expand product capabilities and optimization talent, as well as the completion of a $90 million Series C funding round earlier this year. Capitolis has also grown its team significantly in 2021, announcing a string of strategic new hires including Stuart Wexler as General Counsel, Jimmy Reilly as Head of Equity and Total Return Swaps Funding Solutions, Jen Vanderwall as Chief People and Culture Officer, and James Kibbe as Head of Structured Funding Origination.
