Item 5.02 Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
Berry Petroleum Company (“Company”) regrets to announce that on August 30, 2009, Ronald J. Robinson, a member of the Company’s Board of Directors passed away suddenly at the age of 63. Mr. Robinson, a director since 2006, was also a member of the Company’s Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee and
also had recently been added to the Company’s Compensation Committee.
Martin H. Young, Jr., the Company’s Chairman, stated “All of us at Berry Petroleum Company extend our deepest sympathy to Ron’s wife, Bonnie, their children, family and friends. Ron was a valuable member of our Board and we are grateful for his service to the Company. He will be deeply missed not only as a director
but also as a friend.”
The Company has not made any decision regarding a replacement for Mr. Robinson.
