Item 8.01 Other Events.

On October 9, 2018, Karyopharm Therapeutics Inc. issued a press release announcing that it intends to offer, subject to market and other conditions, $150 million aggregate principal amount of convertible senior notes due 2025 in a private offering to qualified institutional buyers in reliance on Rule 144A under the Securities Act of 1933, as amended. A copy of the press release is filed as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K and is incorporated herein by reference.
