More Students Are Flocking to Online CPR Training

By: Get News
As online learning becomes more prevalent, organizations such as NationalCPR have ceased in-person classes permanently, and now offer online-only education.

NationalCPR, a frontrunner in CPR, First Aid, and Healthcare training, just released a new online training and certifications program. Students from all 50 states in the US, Canada, and the UK have flocked to online training in greater numbers.

Established in 2003, NationalCPR tells its customers that they are about student-centricity. According to their stated values, they were led to move away from classes that were unnecessarily time-consuming.

James Walker, their Director of Training said “Over the years, we’ve taught American Heart Association classes, Red Cross® classes and we saw so many students that weren’t retaining the information. We decided to create our own curriculum focused on evidence-based student retention.” Although there is no national body that oversees all CPR courses, the American Heart Association, along with the American Academy of Pediatrics, American Association for Respiratory Care, American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the Society of Critical Care Anesthesiologists, issues public guidelines on what should be taught. “All of our classes follow the collective guidelines issued by the American Heart Association, we just believe we focus more on student retention and efficacy. At the end of the day, if a student can’t remember how to do CPR, the certification is meaningless” says Mr. Walker.

Many organizations and States required hands-on CPR education in the past, but since COVID-19, have dropped that requirement. Some states, such as Oregon, require that some initial certifications be in-person, but allow subsequent renewals to be online-only. “After COVID-19 caused many people to stay home in 2020 and gathering wasn’t possible, we knew high-quality CPR education was still needed,” says the company. NationalCPR stopped teaching for other programs and exclusively begin teaching their own equivalent online classes. “All courses have been skillfully developed by practicing Board Certified Physicians and are based on the current American Heart Association guidelines. This ensures streamlined, high-quality content.” Recently, even the American Heart Association itself has partnered with Laerdal Medical® to create online training through its newly formed RQI Partners LLC.

Apart from instant delivery with the NationalCPR program, each certificate comes with a unique QR code for security and verification. Their certificates also use bank-level encrypted blockchain technology, which is a first for a CPR certification. These features allow end-users to own, download, print, and safely share unlimited copies hassle-free.

Currently, the NationalCPR website offers six online courses and certifications: Basic Adult & Pediatric CPR, Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers, Basic First Aid and Adult and Pediatric CPR/AED, Basic First Aid, Bloodborne Pathogens, and finally, Infant and CPR & AED.
