Happy Sunday.

My feeds are being dominated by Russia, Bitcoin and NFT’s at the moment. They have been dominated by Bitcoin and NFT’s for a year so what is up with this Russia place?

I have never been to Russia which seems to be a place for unhappy people, thievery and diplomats.

All I can do is watch the markets and the diplomats and shake my head. This Atlantic piece was good.

A hot hand in the markets, Craig Shapiro, says the Russia (and China) are attacking the US dollar.

The markets care at the moment, and who am I to say when that will pass.

Combined with raging inflation and worsening supply chain issues, it continues to be market to play defense. I started getting extra defensive in December.

Speaking of Russia and unhappy people, Facebook has a lot of (Meta) problems. This Ben Thompson update piece on digital advertising really brings it home.

The markets are in a punishing mood for those of us betting on growth.

I have no idea when it passes so I will continue to do more watching than buying.

When it is all said in done, the innovation boom from software, the cloud and people is relentless.

Jobs are everywhere and anyone with an internet connection can go to Indeed and explore/fantasize about the perfect job/career.

Speaking of jobs, I love this new job aggregation platform Getro. We used it for Social Leverage to organize all the jobs at our portfolio companies.

I am off for my Sunday ride.

Have a great Sunday.

PS – I posted this video of my shot (wedge) on hole 7 at Pebble Beach because I knew it would get trolled with some funny responses:

My fave was this one from RampCapital:

I asked him to fix it to reflect the true ball flight (I missed the putt of course):
