Go Dharmic Founder- Hanuman Dass In Conversation With Joshua Basofin- Director of Climate Change at the Parliament of The World’s Religions for #WorldEarthDay

London, United Kingdom Apr 22, 2021 (Issuewire.com) - At a critical moment for our Earth, we find ourselves in a race to zero carbon emissions, but are we missing something crucial in the harm we cause?

This World Earth Day, Hanuman Dass, founder of volunteer organisation, Go Dharmic, makes a case to try and restore the Earth through the practical application of non-violence in relation to the Environment.

Go Dharmic is seeking pledges from the public, for its '#RESTORE' campaign, to go green for the environment. Each of the initiatives of the campaign utilises non-violence to have the message of saving our planet heard.

Anyone can go to the Go Dharmic website: www.godharmic.com

and pledge to do their part too:

Go Organic - A campaign where people are urged to consume organic products and produce organically grown farm-fresh produce.

Give It A Grow - A campaign that focuses on planting trees. GD's mission is to plant 1 million trees by 2026. Anyone pledging can become a volunteer for this initiative also.

Go Plant-Based - Under this campaign, people are urged to pledge to go plant-based. The idea of the campaign is to spread awareness about the way animal agriculture affects the environment. Supported with research, GD hopes to spread awareness on the benefits of shifting to Veganism. Healthier living, and separating the truths and myths that surround veganism is key.

Go Fuel-Free- Going fuel-free is the people are urged to opt for fuel-less options and encourage people to walk or cycle wherever possible to reduce their carbon footprint.

Save and Switch-Save and Switch aims at spreading the word about 'saving energy'' and 'switching to renewable' sources of energy.

"Until we realise that we are the primary cause that harms our planet, we will not be able to make any meaningful impact. Ahimsa (non-harming) is the way of consciously and practically taking steps, both at an individual and collective level to reduce harm. It is our dharma (duty) to be better custodians of our Earth place sustenance and the flourishing of nature above every other agenda.  Ahimsa is not passive.  It is an active principle of treading softly on our Earth, being kinder to other living beings, and expressing love for our planet." -Hanuman Dass, Go Dharmic

Go Dharmic hopes to build a global community of people joining them starting on Earth Day 2021, to start a journey of using one of these initiatives, by pledging to them, therefore using a non-violent act or action to champion the environment. Hanuman Dass, will be joined by Joshua Basofin, Director of Climate Change at the Parliament of The World's Religions on Facebook for a LIVE discussion and conversation on using non-violence to preserve the planet for #WorldEarthDay. APRIL 22, 2021, 6PM BST https://www.facebook.com/godharmic/

The organization wants all to be empowered in a movement where non-violence can be applied to all aspects of life- from eating plant-based, growing, and cooking food ourselves, to buying locally and sustainable- moving away from the dependence on animal agriculture. It can also be in relation to the energy we consume or means of travelling- always keeping in mind, that the least harm is always best for the environment and to support all of our life's ambitions for a more dignified living standard.
