Self-care course helps moms parent intentionally

By: Get News

Dr. Leesha Cox is helping moms relieve stress during the month of May by offering them the self-care course Motherhood in Bloom. This super self-care course program walks mothers through modules that help them regain the identity they had before having children. Dr. Leesha is passionate about transforming the lives of moms who wish to parent intentionally and positively but without losing themselves or their sanity in the process.

“I have taken the bull by the horns by showing mothers that they never really lost their identity after having children,” said Leesha Cox, founder of Motherhood in Bloom. “We focus on the mom and the amazing woman who existed before kids because our identity does not solely revolve around our role as mommy. The truth is it never did.”

The course is divided into three modules: 1) Defining a healthy mom mindset 2) Cultivating mindfulness and 3) Understanding the relationship between your mindset and parenting.

During the month of May, Dr. Leesha is advocating for mothers to:

● Take a five-day challenge for self-care.

● Join Dr. Leesha during her Facebook live sessions nightly through the end of the month

● Read her books, Ditch the Mommy Guilt and The Love Garden

Her event called the Remix, is equal parts physician, therapist, and friend and examines first-hand how tough parenting can be. Dr. Leesha can relate because she is a mother of three energetic children and a board-certified child, adolescent, and adult psychiatrist. So she has been there, done that, and is still doing it.

“I know mothers struggle to fulfill the needs of their children and families and while at the same time, fail to meet society’s unrealistic parenting expectations,” she added.

She also knows that moms make little time for themselves. Left unaddressed, they struggle under the weight of a never-ending to-do list, adopt unhealthy coping strategies and experience mommy burnout which can lead to anxiety and depression.

Born out of a sincere desire to encourage and uplift moms and help them cultivate a healthy “mommy mindset,” Dr. Leesha has launched several initiatives. She wrote the Amazon best-selling book, Ditch the Mommy Guilt: A Blueprint for the Modern Mommy. She formed a Facebook group called Motherhood Unapologetically that engages almost 1300 moms daily. And she has an active presence on Facebook and Instagram. She is launching her online parenting course, Motherhood in Bloom.

Her signature event, Motherhood the Remix, is a fun, fresh conference for all moms designed to honor their strength and vulnerability, grow their mommy tribe, and learn how to be a better parent while also investing in themselves. She created this event because she knows, first-hand, how tough parenting can be as the mother of three energetic children, wife, entrepreneur, and physician. She adds, “I know mothers struggle to fulfill the needs of their children and families and while at the same time, fail to meet society’s unrealistic parenting expectations.”

She boldly and loudly calls “foul” on these unrealistic expectations and is raising the bar so that moms no longer feel guilty, weighed down by a never-ending to-do list that puts them at risk for mommy burnout. Dr. Leesha pours into moms not only as a mental health expert and parents but also as a friend who helps women grow and blossom into their best selves. “Happy, healthy moms raise happy, healthy kids! Here’s to helping momma become happy, healthy, and whole!”
