Fees for the Global Entry, NEXUS, and SENTRI programs were standardized on October 1, according to U.S. Customs and Border Protection. This amounted to a fee increase for NEXUS and Global Entry programs, and a slight reduction for SENTRI. This is the first fee hike in fifteen years for the Trusted Traveler Program, and it will fund technology improvements and process optimization benefitting customer service, according to the government agency. It will also allow the agency to expand ports across the northern border.
Government fees are unavoidable, but they’re not the only ones bumping up the price of travel, says Travorium.
