Comporium Expands Broadband Investment in Transylvania County

Nearly 800 Addresses Gain Access to Fiber Optic Network and 1Gbps Speeds.

Comporium continues its commitment to bring faster broadband speeds to Transylvania County. The company is in the final stages of offering up to 1Gbps broadband speeds to nearly 800 addresses across the area. In addition to improving its network in downtown Brevard, Comporium has begun migrating customers in the Balsam Grove, Cedar Mountain, and Lake Toxaway communities to recently upgraded facilities.

“Comporium continues to extend cutting edge services that improve the quality of life in Transylvania County,” stated Shelia Carland, Director and City Executive for Comporium. “We believe that continually investing in our high-speed internet service and offering our customers locally-based, around-the-clock support sets us apart from other providers.”

Customers can check the eligibility of an address, choose from a full suite of services, place orders, and schedule appointments through the comporium.com website.

As part of its efforts to promote digital equity across all its service areas, Comporium participates in the FCC’s Affordable Connectivity Program. This income-based federal program allows eligible homes to get a $30 discount off regular monthly rates for internet service.
