FPSO Brasil restarts production in the Roncador Field
The stoppage in production of the FPSO Brasil happened yesterday at 23:30 hrs, to begin the process of inspecting the flare and subsequent repairs have already been completed.
The bolts that fix the upper end of the flare to the pipe carrying the gas to the top of the tower came loose. As a result, part of the flame began to exit through the joint between the two components, around 1 meter below the top of the flare. Continuing to burn gas under these conditions could have caused damage, jeopardizing the platform's operational safety, for which reason it was decided to suspend production. It should be stressed that at no time was the platform's integrity threatened.
